Grubbies feat. pikkuOtus once more - KERTA VIELÄ - with a supadupa treat: GIVEAWAY! - ARVONTA!

Here we go again, but can't help it, every time I think of Grubbies, the hidden Brit in mi awakes. Just can't fight it. As a curiosity, I've lived in London for a few years in the earlier years.. Boy, those were the days. Or weren't. It was somewhat different than my current life as a mom of two. Didn't mean to sound boring. Yeah right.

Hei darlings, älkää olko moksiskaan, minen mahda tälle mitään! Aina, kun ajattelen noita farkkuhaalareita, alan puhumaan kielillä, ja vielä ihan tajuttomalla brittiaksentilla - excuse-moi. Tähän saattaa vaikuttaa nuoruuden villit vietetyt vuodet Lontoossa. Niistä ei puhuta täällä.

The real reason for the language change this time is my new BFF (hee hee!), a very talented Charlotte, who's one of the masterminds behind the Grubbies label - and she doesn't understand Finnish. Bless her.

Huom! Tämä EI OLE maksettu mainos - olisipa! :)

When you have a blog of your own, you can basically do as you please. Like it or like it a lot, you decide! Well, what did I come up with after - yet another sleepless night (BTW it's me who sleeps next to the one-year-old - again!)? For just this once, I pretended to be a fashion editor (not Anna Wintour though). Whaaat? Yes, I'm well aware of the fact that I also need a proper job. However, I had a chance to pose the very talented Grubbies' posse a few questions.  Crab yourselves a nice cuppa tea, if you will and keep on reading ladies (and my husband).

Without further ado (ha-ha!), may I introduce my first (and most likely my last) interview of this blog! First of all, thank you so much Charlotte, Jane and Carolyn for taking your precious time and answering my questions! The rest of you lot, enjoy!

Hölpätipölpäti höpölöpö lässynlää - mee asiaan kiitos!

Answers by Jane, Carolyn and Charlotte at Grubbies for Antakee Armoo

1) So, what's with the dungarees?

You might regret asking this! We all get very evangelical about dungarees. They’re quite simply iconic kidswear and until recently they seemed to have disappeared from most children’s wardrobes which is such a shame - they’re durable, functional, comfortable, they don’t fall down, they don’t pinch round the middle or show tummies, they’re easy to get on and off.  From a design perspective as well, they’re such a fabulous mix of nostalgia and functionality and that’s exactly what we want Grubbies to be all about.

2) There are also kerchiefs and tights in the Grubbies collection? What other pieces can we expect in the future?

We’ve got some great stuff in the pipeline that you’ll see very soon. First up, we have some gorgeous 100% British-made t-shirts in three colours and styles. They’re made of British knitted ribbed cotton and are slim and long in the body to stay put under dungarees. You will also soon see some dungaree shorts that are equally good to wear with bare legs in the summer or in the winter over tights or leggings. We have a very cute playsuit for girls, the ‘Scoot’ and some really cool shorts for boys or girls – our ‘Riders’.

3) "Made great in Britain” - What does it mean to you?

We’re really proud to be able to call ourselves a British brand.  For Grubbies, it means working with suppliers we get to know extremely well and to trust.  It’s so important for us to know the working conditions of the people who cut and sew our clothes.  For our customers, it helps them know they are shopping responsibly and ethically and doing their bit to support a great British tradition of textiles and fashion manufacturing. ‘Made in Britain’ is a great mark of quality and rightly so – we’re very proud to be able to use it.

4) In a word (okay, a few words) how do you describe a Grubbies girl / boy?

Good question! We have different styles of Grubbies to suit every personality but overall we’d say high-spirited, happy-go-lucky and independent. The sort of child who needs clothes to be robust and functional, but with a sense of timeless style!

5) One thing, which challenges me nearly every morning, and I'm trying to improve my parental skills in this nerve racking area, and would therefore like to know - how is the typical morning chaos managed in your family? Can you handle it without raising your voice? Without telling your kids to hurry up, we're going to be late? Is it, in fact, one of the reasons you created Grubbies as they are so easy to wear, you'll save so much time without having to struggle with buttons etc.?

Well we are definitely no experts here! The three of us have very different aged children. Carolyn’s problem is getting her teenagers out of bed before lunchtime, whereas Jane and Charlotte are trying to keep their pre-schoolers in bed past 5am! Our only tip is that when you have to get more than one child to different schools or nurseries and more than one parent to different offices all by about 8am, you cannot get up early enough! So set your alarm early, have outfits and lunches ready and take a very deep breath!

Cheers ladies, it was great fun!

No ei löytynyt ratkaisua aamukiristelyihin ja vatulointiin Britteinsaariltakaan, paitsi tuo melko hyvä vinkki herätä aikaisemmin. Eipä ole tullut kokeiltuakaan. Tämä on muuten ihan puhdasta fiilistelyä uuden labelin nimissä, jota ehdottomasti suosittelen, koska epäilemättä joka kodista löytyy todellinen Grubbies boy or a girl! On ne vaan ne meidän pienet varsinaisia " happy-go-lucky" -tyyppejä. Hihi. Hihhih.
